ABC12 News – Frankenmuth’s Dog Bowl Festival attracts thousands of people — and furry friends
A record-breaking $40,000 was raised during this year’s Frankenmuth Dog Bowl.
The money goes towards police K9 units, dog rescue organizations and local community initiatives.
The funds will be separated between three organizations. Polic K9 units will receive $19,000, various dog rescue organizations will receive $16,000 and the Friends of the Frankenmuth Police will receive $5,000.
The money was received through support from sponsors and the success of the Dog Bowl event.
The annual event in Frankenmuth brings dogs and their owners from across the country to the area. The event includes competitions such as dock diving, disc-catching, agility courses and costume contests.
